Blossoms!

Lillian had the time of her life running through a blossoming almond orchard the other day!
Finn looked on and smiled :)
 Family photo!
 Hello, baby boy!
 My girl!
"Come on Finn!"

Content Little Faces!

Yesterday, Lillian cracked me up when she rubbed smashed up blackberries all over her face and in her hair.  It looked to me like she was thinking, "Oh, these blackberries are soooooo good!  I must wear them all over!"
This morning, I was successful in attaching the 'jogging kit' to my Burley bike trailer!  I grabbed the kids, latched them in and took them for an early morning stroll to the mailbox.  Everything worked out perfectly!!! Lillian and James did GREAT together...
...so great infact, that I geared them up shortly there after and took them on a two mile jog around the neighborhood! This was another trial run, which went wonderfully!  They fell asleep and are still asleep as I type this (45 minutes after the run)!  Yay for running!  I'm back, back at last!!

Nevada Trip!

Lillian and Ronin sitting in a tree, I mean tub... We're thinking about an arranged marriage for these two :)
Visiting with Miss Mary, who is one of my bestest friends ever!
Lillian playing with one of Ronin's fabulous toys!
 "Hey!  What's that?!"
 "Hi, Mommy."
Lillian with one of her most favorite Aunties!  We love you, Nina!!!!

The 'Fourth Trimester'...

Ever since he was born, James has expressed a strong need to be near mommy at all times. Sometimes, we successfully put him down in his swing and/or playpen awake and happy, but that usually last only a few minutes before he wants to be held again. Showers can be an issue, but we've solved that by bringing him in with us. Now, car trips are another story... :) Night time tends to be a struggle, but he usually does fall asleep in his bassinet, but only after several tries... Pictured here: After a couple hours of trying to get him down for a nap, I only found success with him on my lap :)
We've had to pull out our old bag of tricks to help James get acclimated to the outside word during his 'fourth trimester'. Pictured here, he's taking a nap (before waking up and sleeping on my lap in the picture above) on his foam wedge positioner (pink hand-me-down from his sister), which not only helps to keep him from rolling over, but it also keeps him elevated to aid in acid reflux. Baby stomach valves aren't strong enough to hold back their food very well at this age and by keeping James elevated, we're helping to keep the contents in his stomach (we try anyway!). We keep him tightly swaddled as well, so he doesn't keep by bashing himself in the face with his hands uncontrollably (doesn't have much control over those either just yet!). The swaddle also mimics the warm hug he not so long ago felt in his mommy's uterus, which relaxes him. We've also been using a noise maker that has a womb recording with heartbeat that lulls him to sleep. The 'fourth trimester' has been a challenge, but with one month to go, well be out of it before we know it :)

Monterey Bay Aquarium Trip

Lillian, James, Keith & I enjoyed an afternoon at the aquarium on Sunday! Pictured here, Lillian and her Daddy pose outside the kid's activity center.
James slept most of the visit in his favorite Snugli carrier.
Lillian really enjoyed the tropical reef exhibit!
The sea horse exhibit symbol was the neatest!

An Affectionate Hold!

Lillian reaches over and affectionately holds James' arm :)
'I love my big sister!'

Our Little Ballerina!

'Look at me, Mommy!! I look pretty!'
Lillian accented her new ballerina outfit with gold bling!
'Are two necklaces too many... nahhhh, too few!' -Lillian
I'm gunna get you!!

Happy Nights and Sleepy Mornings!

James is a regular night owl! Chipper and smiling, he enjoys staying awake at night with Mommy and Daddy...
The mornings are all about hanging with his big sister!
"Interesting..."
Slurp, slurp!!
Cozy and happy!

A Hike In The Hills!!

On Sunday, we went for a nice stroll in the hills around our home!
Lillian hiked the whole way on her own (nearly two miles round trip!)!
We brought some lunch along, so when we found a nice place, we put the quilt down and took a break to rest to refuel!
A-la-peanut butter sandwiches!!!
Hi, Daddy!
Finn-man!!
"Put that camera down....!!"
Lillian and Finn pave the way ahead!
We brought some wildflower seeds and tossed them about along our path!
Evidence... shhhhhhhh....!
Lillian with a handful of seeds :)
While we hiked, James was rocked asleep!
Almost home!!
Lillian insisted on pulling the wagon :)
